Running, Mountain Running and Nordic Walking

A network of over 120 kilometres of running and walking trails enables hobby joggers, aspiring athletes and professional runners to enjoy their favourite pastime while taking in the magnificent scenery and benefiting from the clean mountain air. There are around 20 different running routes of varying levels of difficulty in flat, hilly and mountainous terrain.

Since 2007 the region has hosted WMRA Grand Prix inviting mountain runners from all over the world to take part and to discover the beauty of Leogang.  

Hiking

Lush green meadows, dark dense forests and impressive mountain peaks as far as the eye can see. Thanks to its proximity to Leogang’s Steinberg Mountain and the Steinerne Meer mountain range (Petrified Sea), Leogang and the Landhaus Leogang is the ideal holiday destination for hiking enthusiasts and mountaineers. Whether you just want to take a gentle mountain pasture hike or conquer the challenging summits, you’ll find the ideal walking tour to suit your wishes and mood.  

Climbing

Rock-climbing, fixed rope routes or the indoor climbing wall, enthusiasts will find exactly what they’re looking for and plenty of it in the Saalfelden Leogang Region. Raft Building

Another unusual pastime offered here in the region is raft building in Saalfelden! With a little help from the experts on hand you will be able to put together your own raft in no time using nothing but logs, string and cloth. You then head off to a nearby river for your maiden voyage – a fascinating way to establish which raft-building technique is the best if you are skilled with your hands.

Golf

Set in the heart of some of the most stunning countryside Austria has to offer, surrounded by unspoiled mountain landscapes, the two local 18-hole golf courses offer golfers the chance to relax and unwind in perfect tranquillity. With a view of the impressive Steinerne Meer – “Petrified Sea” – players can pick their wits against these championship standard courses. There are a number of golf schools for those who are picking up the clubs for the first time or who want improve their swing. Within a radius of 100 kilometres from our holiday house there are 30 more golf courses to choose from.

Summer - Ski Jumping

Do you fancy trying something completely new? Then why not register for the two-day ski jumping training course in Saalfelden Leogang! You learn the basics of ski jumping and your first jumps are completed using a simulator. Qualified instruction, top quality hire equipment and a DVD of your first attempts are included in the course. The Ski Jumping School in Saalfelden Legoang offers courses in both summer and winter on four ski jumps of between 30 and 85 metres. Special children's courses are also offered. 

In addition the Saalfelden Leogang Region also provides excellent angling, beach volleyball, football, riding, archery tennis and triathlon facilities.
