In the summer months the free daily programme of children’s activities ensures that there’s always something to do and in the winter the local ski schools with their well-trained instructors offer children’s ski courses for the over 4s at really competitive prices. Child-minding in Saalfelden Leogang
Great fun for the kids and a chance for the parents to take a breather. The trained child minding staff of the Villa Kunterbunt at the valley station of the Asitz lift offer loving day care for children between the age of 3 and 6 for free. Activities such as tobogganing, playing in the snow, handcrafts, painting and games are organised throughout the day.
Children’s Activities in SUMMER
This is a theme park that stimulates all your senses and gives you answers to all those questions you’ve always wanted to ask. How does the eye see? How do we hear? And what enables the nose to smell? In this unique “Park of the Senses” you’ll be amazed when you enter Leo’s Water World with its walk-in waterfall and the refreshing Kneipp cold water paddling pool. The variety of plants, trees and Alpine flowers is just astounding. The 25 activity stations open up an interactive and fascinating world for visitors or all ages. The 8-seater cabin lift brings you comfortably to the middle station of the mountain station where you are surrounded by lush mountain pastures that lead to the mountain peak. And if you need a rest, the lovely Stöcklalm mountain hut restaurant is the ideal place for refreshments and a break.
Summer Toboggan Runs
Fun and action in the middle of Leogang’s Steinberg Mountains – The “Leo`sKufengaudi” makes it possible! The Asitz cabin lift brings you comfortably to the mountain station at an altitude of 1,800 metres above sea level where a magnificent view of Leogang’s Steinberg Mountains opens up before you. From here it’s a 400 metre ride down the tracks of the summer toboggan run through lush green meadows towards the valley. Having reached the bottom of the run a tow-bar lift pulls you back to the start for another go.
Unforgettable tobogganing fun for all the family is guaranteed when you visit the summer toboggan run on the Biberg slope in Saalfelden. The 1.6 kilometre track winds its way at high speeds through 61 curves and there are two exciting jumpy for added action.
Kids Bike Parks
Budding young bikers are also well looked after in Leogang: At the Kids’ Mini Bike Park, right next to the valley station of the Leogang cable car, kids will find the ideal terrain to get started. Thanks to a special moving belt lift, up and coming bikers can enjoy a great biking experience in mini-format.
At the valley station in Biberg next to the lovely sunny terrace of the Gasthaus Hinterburgstub`n you will find the Kiddy Park Saalfelden. Here youngsters can take advantage of the free bike hire to try out the various different obstacles while training their strength, balance and concentration.
With a water surface area of 750 m², a giant water slide, activity pool, wild water channel, beach, swimming pool, children’s pool and cold water foot stream, fun and action can be had by all the family. There’s also tennis, beach volleyball and a sauna to keep you busy at the Sonnrain Leisure Arena in Leogang.
Enjoy the crystal clear waters of this mountain lake surrounded by fantastic Alpine scenery. The Ritzensee reaches temperatures of around 25 C° in summer and is the ideal place to cool off and chill out.
This is a pool park that is ideal for the entire family. Thanks to state-of-the-art solar technology the pools are well heated and guarantee hours of fun for “children” of all ages. In addition to the great activity pool with its giant slide, there is also a wild water channel, a water cannon and a water seating area with under water massage jets.
The 65 metre-long tunnel slide is a real highlight and is a fun experience that your kids won’t easily forget. The Aubad Swimming Complex in Fieberbrunn with its indoor and outdoor pools offers great deals for families. It is about 17 kilometres away when you head towards Tyrol and also has diving boards, an outdoor swimming channel, a delightful bathing lawn for those warm summer afternoons and various different massage treatments.
On the 450 metre-long outdoor go-kart track you can still your appetite for speed: Holding your own in the tight bends, going for record speeds on the straights and that unbeatable feeling of crossing the finish line. This is an action-packed day out for all those speed junkies out there.
The track is open all year round and the experienced staff at the automobile club centre will help you start to kart! This unique track in Saalfelden is the ideal place to find out what the sport is all about.
In the Show Mines in Leogang the fascinating life and work of the miners is clearly displayed and visitors get the chance to feel what it was like working in the mines in days gone by. The tour starts at the miners lodge “Unterberghaus” and continues on through the narrow mines and caverns returning to the lodge, the ideal place for a short rest and some refreshments at the end of the tour. Special children’s tours and treasure hunts can be arranged for the kids.
The Höttl bee hives are more than just a honey making station. A visit to the Höttl bee farm gives you the chance to find out more about this fascinating profession. In the hive house an informative film is shown and you get to experience life in the hives with all your senses: See, hear and taste the making of honey. At the end of the tour you have the chance to taste the home-made products. This is a day out that captures the attention of adults and children alike.
With more than 40 exciting and fun attractions the family theme park in the Pillerseetal Valley guarantees a fun day out for all the family. Time will simply fly by as the kids discover the climbing wall, salt grotto and the pirate ship. Wild water rafting is just one of the many exciting activities and since 2013 the park is home to the highest roller coaster in the Alps, the BIG BANG! It is 22 metres high, 500 metres long and reaches speeds of up to 80 km/h!

In the Sport Arena Asitz you will find a great practice area for kids which covers an area of 1.5 hectares. For the ski stars of tomorrow there are 4 magic carpet lifts and a children’s ski carousel. Snow igloos and castles ensure that the youngsters don’t get bored and you can be sure that your kids are safe and sound and having fun.
The recently opened Fun & Snow Park in Saalfelden has quickly become an attraction for cross-country skiers of all ages. The needs of the smallest visitors are catered for with child-suitable introductory tuition on easy terrain. You can come along and simply have a go for fun or complete your training session.
There are a number of toboggan runs providing absolute sledging pleasure for the whole family. The top of the runs are reached either on foot, for those of you who want to enjoy a romantic winter walk through the snow-covered forests, or by taxi. The closest runs to your holiday home are the 6 kilometre-long run in Biberg or the flood-lit run on the Ansitz slope. Top quality toboggans can be hired onsite.
